Help
The AOL browser permits you to change several preferences that will improve the quality of your Internet experience.

These instructions are for AOL version 5.x running under the Windows operating system. Configuring other versions of AOL is similar.

step one
Select Preferences from the My AOL drop down menu.

step two
Click on the button for WWW preferences.

step three

PC Users: Under the "Web Graphics" tab, click to remove the check in the box next to "Use compressed graphics".
Mac Users: Click to remove the check in the box next to "Use compressed graphics".

Text Only Toolbar Your AOL Toolbar can be set to show "Icons & Text" or "Text Only". The "Text Only" setting gives more space for viewing a Web site, especially on small screens. To change this setting, go to "My AOL", click on "Preferences", and then the "Toolbar" icon. Select "Text Only" for more Web site viewing area.

Maximize The window through which you view a Web site can be "maximized" to cover most of your screen area. Maximizing your window size minimizes your need for scrolling. To maximize your window size, click on the "Maximize" button in the top right hand corner of the window displaying the Web site. (This step may need to be repeated if another AOL window pops up and reduces your window size.)
